The Stupendous Rules System

All our modules are compatible with the native Stupendous Rules System! If you don’t feel like playing Cthulhu or Pathfinder today, why don’t you try out this one?

Character Creation

You will need: A name. Strength level (weak/medium/strong). Special skills. A character hook. Any important items your character has.  There, your character is made.

Dice and GMing

The dice are a construct and a loose-cannon GM who plays by their own rules. Essentially, the GM will be bullshitting at all times.

You’ll be deciding when to roll, how to roll, and what happens with each roll. Do you want them to discover an essential clue? Do you want them to face a peril? Do you want to see if they succeed on a hunch? Do you want to make them paranoid? You can call for a roll whenever you feel like it and what size dice to use. You choose what hurdles they have to pass. This is extremely subjective and your main goal should be to keep the story going no matter what. And make sure to do something hilarious for 1s and 20s. 

It is the GM’s choice whether or not to inform the players that they are allowed to attempt to seduce things. GM may call ‘no seduction’ at the start of any session. If seduction is in play, well, you can’t say we didn’t warn you.

Game Goal

Have fun, tell a story. Loot and levels are meaningless. If your player really wants that dagger, find a way to give them a dagger. Maybe give them a monkey’s paw level amount of daggers. If you’re all laughing, you’re winning. There are no hard and fast rules in The Stupendous Rules System. This is because we do not expect anyone to read a rulebook. We have never been proven wrong.

If your players come up with a different ending than yours, you’re doing it right.
